Software Engineer
Job Summary
- Participation in projects with a team of engineers involved in designing, developing, and testing distributed systems.
- Independently and rapidly developing several software modules broadly related to RAID controller functionality.
- Designing and modifying the Linux kernel as needed to support the required functionality.
- Developing test plans / test cases and writing appropriate scripts for the same.
Requirements
- Proficiency in software development.
- Good programming skills are a must. Requires experience in C and Java Programming.
- Familiarity with a Linux programming environment is required; including topics such as: a) Multi-process (e.g. forked) or threaded execution, semaphores, task switching, IPC and memory management, b) Debuggers and Profilers, c) Interacting with external software (system calls, syslog, etc.)
- Familiarity with Linux Kernel development will be an asset.
- Knowledge of how to use VMWare is desirable.
- Hands-on scripting experience using TCL/Expect, Perl or Python.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Knowledge of version control software.
- Should be team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate leadership ability.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with management and technical teams.

Systems Engineer
Job Summary
- Assist in architecture and design of the product.
- Discovery and definition of customer application requirements. Designing of customer application solutions and preparation of statements of work.
- Carry out research and then write white papers discussing how our product can be used with various enterprise products.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with VMware ESX, Virtual Infrastructure, SAN engineering/administration including RAIDs, snapshots, etc.
- At least 1 year of VMware design and deployment experience.
- Experience in networking and LAN/WAN hardware and software. Solid understanding of distributed computing environment concepts.
- Scripting experience using Perl or Python.
- Experience with Microsoft Directory service will be an asset.
- Technical certification in VMware will be a huge asset.
- Should be team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

User Interface Developer
Job Summary
- Work directly with stakeholders and product management to help determine customer needs and solve business problems related to User Experience.
- Define, develop and document business requirements and/or process flows to ensure client needs are captured and delivered.
- Create User Research, UX definition deliverables including: a) Research plans and user analysis, b) Findings/recommendation reports, c) Prototyping by developing wireframes, simple interactive screens, etc.
- Develop the UI once the design has been finalized. Partner with other members of the development team to ensure smooth integration of the UI component with back-end technologies.
- Develop effective information and navigation architectures to promote user’s ability to navigate and find needed functionality. Ensure room for growth as applications of our product are expanded.
Requirements
- Proficiency in User Centered Design methodologies. Skilled at converting designs into usable interfaces.
- Experience of developing prototypes, interface flows and storyboards.
- Understanding of VMware, iSCSI and storage technologies like RAID, replication, snapshot, etc is desirable.
- Should be team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in order to interact effectively with management and technical teams.
- Degree in human-computer interaction, computing science, cognitive science, interactive multimedia or related discipline.

Marketing Manager
Job Summary
- Manage corporate, technical, and promotional materials including product and corporate brochures and corporate adverts.
- Ensure that the website is updated with latest content, and keep evolving the site to enhance user experience.
- Introduce tools to track prospective clients on the corporate website.
- Lead corporate participation in industry related trade shows by handling all aspects including booth management.
- Plan and execute on product related customer demonstrations and meetings.
- Develop a working knowledge of DataGardens' products and be able to communicate its advantages and benefits to prospective customers and partners.
- Define, develop and manage the execution of marketing communications plans and programs for strategic service lines to support targets.
- Draft press releases and other related corporate communications.
- Be accountable for administrative tasks supporting executive management, including communication to key constituencies regarding program metrics and analyses.
Requirements
- Experience with information technology industry is essential; specific experience with storage systems and networking would be a definite asset.

Technical Writer
Job Summary
- Develop User Guides, Administrator guides and Installation guides by translating complex concepts into user-friendly concise instructions.
- Work on white papers and Multimedia help systems and demos based on engineering and marketing specifications.
- Work closely with both the Development & Support Departments.
- Develop & update online HTML Help, Product & Training Documentation that is well written, presented, and communicates efficiently to the end-user.
- Develop format, content and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality.
Requirements
- A fundamental understanding of storage area networking and wide area data sharing.
- Demonstrated technical writing ability. A sample of prior work will need to be presented at interview.
- Excellent organization, communication and writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of people from management to technical.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining project quality.
- General functional knowledge of Software Documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Frame Maker, HTML, and Webworks Publisher is essential.
- Experienced with Dreamweaver, Visio and Photoshop or other graphics program is preferred.
- Exposure to and experience with software quality assurance would be a definite asset.
